Wisconsin men’s basketball headed to France in August

It was Brad Davison’s freshman year the last time UW went abroad, but Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that the Badgers will be traveling to France in August to partake in four exhibition games.

The NCAA allows programs to take a trip every four years, however, previous travel plans were derailed due to COVID-19.

The trip itself couldn’t come at a better time for Wisconsin, who will need to replace their top two scorers, and their top three reserves from last seasons Big Ten championship team.

Beyond the team bonding aspect, the trip will allow Greg Gard and his re-tooled roster 10 additional practices, and the opportunity to get the young players some in-game experience.

All incoming freshman and transfer portal acquisitions will be eligible to play.
