Wisconsin loses a 2024 seven-foot center to Purdue

Wisconsin basketball looks to be prepped for a great season. The familiar team of Chucky Hepburn, Tyler Wahl, Steven Crowl, Connor Essegian and others will tip it off tomorrow at home against Arkansas State.

Before the season coverage begins, we did receive some recruiting news this weekend. Wisconsin lost out on 7-foot, 3-inch class of 2024 center Daniel Jacobsen, who committed to Purdue on Friday. The Badgers had been in the running to land the big man.

Jacobsen is 247Sports’ No. 137 player in the class, No. 26 center and No. 2 recruit from his home state of New Hampshire.

He now follows in the long list of impressive Purdue big men, joining Zach Edey, A.J. Hammons, Isaac Haas and Matt Haarms. The program has some massive shoes to fill at the center position, to say the least.

Wisconsin’s class of 2024 ranks No. 43 in the nation with SG Jack Robinson and PG Daniel Freitag committed.
