For much of Saturday's game against Illinois, it appeared the misery for the Wisconsin Badgers was going to continue.

Then it appears a switch happened. Three fourth-quarter scores, 18 points, and one incredible comeback and game-winning drive for the Badgers, a result that might have saved the season.

In the process, Braedyn Locke, making his first start for the injured Tanner Mordecai, introduced himself to the college football world as he led the Badgers to the 25-21 win over the Illini.

It was a remarkable turnaround for the Badgers, who fell behind 21-7 after an Illinois touchdown with 4:30 left in the third quarter.

Were the Badgers about to fall for a second straight season to Bret Bielema's last-place team? And could Wisconsin muster any more offense after ending a touchdown drought of over 100 minutes earlier in the game? And could the defense get a couple of stops?

Led by hard runs by Braelon Allen, impressive poise and throws from Locke (21 for 41 for 240 yards and two touchdowns), along with a defense that did its job after struggling against the run for much of the game, the Badgers shocked the homecoming crowd at Memorial Stadium.

The comeback shocked social media as well.
