Why Tom Brady thinks Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen will be next NFL QB to win first Super Bowl

Tom Brady thinks Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen will be the next NFL quarterback to become a first-time Super Bowl winner.

Bills fans would love to see that happen in Buffalo, which hasn’t won a Super Bowl and hasn’t been to the championship game in 30 years.

“I’d pick Josh,” Brady said when asked on the Deepcut Podcast who will be the next first-time Super Bowl winning QB. “I like Josh as a guy, as a leader. But you know, he has to get by the (Kansas City) Chiefs, and that's hard because Patrick (Mahomes) is incredible in the way he leads that team.”

Mahomes and Kansas City have eliminated Buffalo during two of their recent Super Bowl runs — in the 2020 AFC Championship and again in the AFC East Divisional Playoffs this past season. The Chiefs also eliminated Buffalo in 2021 and eventually went to the Super Bowl but lost to Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the championship.

When was the last time the Buffalo Bills went to the Super Bowl

The Bills haven't been to the Super Bowl in 30 years. Fans suffered through four consecutive Super Bowl losses in the 1990s.

Buffalo’s last Super Bowl appearance was in 1994. The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Jim Kelly-led Bills 30-13 for their second consecutive title.

The Bills are one of 12 current NFL teams that haven’t won a Super Bowl. The others are: the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, Minnesota Vikings, and Tennessee Titans.

How long is Josh Allen's contract with Buffalo?

Josh Allen’s six-year, $258.3 million contract with the Buffalo Bills will end in 2028.

The Bills extended his contract in 2021 to provide $150,000,000 guaranteed and an average annual salary of $43,005,667.

The contract was restructured earlier this year, which freed up more than $16 million and got the Bills under the league-mandated $255.4 million ceiling
