Why Giants fans should be excited about Kayvon Thibodeaux

Once propped up as the best player in the entire draft, Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux falls into the lap of the New York Giants. They haven’t had an impact edge rusher since Jason Pierre-Paul left, and Thibodeaux can have that same kind of impact.

Thibodeaux has the best first step of any edge defender in this class, bolting into the backfield with haste. He was unblockable at times, using his long arms and quick start to simply blow past tackles and slam into the quarterbacks. He will translate fantastically into the NFL, where his speed and length will likely blow past tackles all the same, and rack up 10-plus sack seasons right away.

He will start opposite Azeez Ojulari, and provide the Giants with two speedy edge defenders that will give offensive tackles and quarterbacks nightmares before games. The Giants find their potential All-Pro defender that they have been looking for, with just a little bit of swagger.
