Game days in Athens are a special time, especially with the Georgia Bulldogs currently ranked No. 1. But for Saturday's matchup against Missouri, there might be a few extra special guests.

Blooper, the mascot for the Atlanta Braves, tweeted out Wednesday that he will be attending the game, accepting UGA coach Kirby Smart's offer he tweeted after the Braves won the 2021 World Series Tuesday night.

"aight, Athens on Saturday is booked," Blooper tweeted Wednesday.

Blooper will be at the game and operating with the Hairy Dawg team a Braves spokesperson confirmed to the Banner-Herald Thursday afternoon.

Not to be outdone by a human in costume, Braves outfielder Joc Pederson posted on his Instagram story about Smart sending an invite.

"Kirby Smart wants us to come watch them Dawgssss," Pederson posted along with a screenshot of Smart's tweet from Wednesday morning.

The Braves defeated the Houston Astros, 7-0, in Game 6 to claim the franchise's first World Series title since 1995. Several members of the Braves, including Pederson, first baseman Freddie Freeman and relief pitcher AJ Minter, are expected to be honored at the Atlanta Hawks game Thursday night, according to the AJC.

A parade to celebrate the World Series champions is set for Friday at noon, beginning at Centennial Olympic Park and concluding at Truist Park.
