White Sox promote C Collins; Castillo to IL
Catcher Zack Collins, the 10th overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, was recalled by the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.
Welington Castillo left Sunday's game with soreness in his back and was placed on the 10-day injured list. He was diagnosed with a strained left oblique.
Collins, 24, is hitting .250 with a .374 on-base percentage at Triple-A Charlotte. He'll likely back up James McCann as the White Sox begin a crosstown series with the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
The White Sox also reinstated left-handed pitcher Jace Fry from the 10-day injured list.
