The Cleveland Cavaliers start playing for keeps Wednesday when they open the regular season on the road against the Brooklyn Nets.

Last year's team may be looking for redemption after a very successful regular season (51-31) and less than successful post-season where they were bounced from the playoffs in the opening round by the New York Knicks.

The Cavs made moves to fortify their roster during the offseason, trading for swingman Max Strus, forward Georges Niang, center Damian Jones. They also re-signed Caris LeVert.

The moves were necessary and prove even more so given the moves of Eastern Conference competitors. The Milwaukee Bucks traded for Damian Lillard in a three-team deal that ultimately sent Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers, who then promptly traded him to the Boston Celtics.

And although the Philadelphia 76ers still have James Harden problems, they will still be in the mix along with the Knicks.
