Westlake, Georgetown, Liberty Hill continue hot starts to girls basketball season
Westlake beat Vista Ridge in a pre-Thanksgiving overtime girls basketball nondistrict contest pitting playoff favorites in a fierce game.
Westlake guard Giana Angiolet drained a 3-point shot at the buzzer in regulation to force the extra period. Angiolet scored 23 points in a solid outing against a strong defensive squad in Vista Ridge. Chaps post Tamia King added 22 points while collecting 10 rebounds. Both the 8-2 Chaps and the 6-4 Rangers have played tough early schedules to prepare for district play and possible long playoff runs.
