Here are the Western North Carolina volleyball stars to watch in 2023

The North Carolina high school volleyball season tipped off this past week.

Here’s a look at the top Western North Carolina volleyball players to watch in 2023.

Haleigh Kamer, ACA, Jr.: She helped the Lions win an NCISAA 3A state championship in 2022 by recording 244 kills, 23 blocks and 136 digs.

Ella Scott, Brevard, Sr.: The 5-foot-10 outside hitter notched 246 kills, 29 blocks, 198 digs and 34 aces last season. Scott helped the Blue Devils reach the NCHSAA 2A West Regional Finals.

Meleah Foster, Brevard, Sr.: The 6-0 middle hitter racked up 184 kills, 50 aces, 94 blocks and 53 digs last season.

Cali Queen, Franklin, Jr.: The 5-5 opposite hitter racked up 200 kills, 21 aces, 17 blocks and 210 digs last season.

McCall Sanders, Franklin, Sr.: The 5-6 setter recorded 30 aces, 113 digs and 435 assists last season.

Keira Wilson, Mountain Heritage, Sr.: The 6-1 senior accumulated 232 kills and 132 blocks in 2022.

Maddison Seabolt, Murphy, Sr.: Seabolt is a 5-11 senior who finished 271 kills, 55 aces, 64 blocks and 198 digs in 2022. She helped the Bulldogs reach the third round of the NCHSA 1A playoffs.

Bailey Rowe, North Henderson, Sr.: The Knights’ star middle hitter finished last season with 388 kills, 169 digs, 71 blocks and 55 aces. She had a hitting percentage of .245.

Mary Keeter, Owen, Sr.: The 5-5 defensive specialist accumulated 38 aces, 404 digs and 57 assists in 2022.

Morgan Yoder, Polk County, Jr.: The 6-0 middle blocker tallied 204 kills, 36 aces, 73 blocks and 64 digs in 2022.

Sophia Overholt, Polk County, Jr.: The 5-9 sophomore is an outside hitter for the Wolverines. She accumulated 201 kills, 12 aces, 26 blocks and 324 digs in 2022.

Keira Caulder, Reynolds, Jr.: The 5-4 libero notched 28 aces, 320 digs and 90 assists last season.

Ryanne Dotson, Reynolds, Sr.: The 5-8 setter recorded 37 aces, 29 blocks, 186 digs and 195 assists last season. Dotson will try to help the Rockets unseat Roberson who are the defending Mountain Athletic Conference champions.

Claire Barlow, Robbinsville, Jr.: Barlow recorded 158 kills and 51 blocks last season. She will try to help the Black Knights repeat as Smoky Mountain conference champions.

Delaney Brooms, Robbinsville, Sr.: The 5-7 outside hitter tallied 368 kills, 16 blocks and 328 digs last season.

Amelia Novak, Roberson, Sr.: The senior is a 6-foot middle blocker who racked up 170 kills, 69 aces, 43 blocks and 78 digs in 2022.

Emma Youngblood, Roberson, Sr.: The 5-8 setter recorded 61 kills, 62 aces, 40 blocks, 233 digs and 853 assists last season. She helped the Rams advance to the third round of the NCHSAA 4A playoffs.

Karlie Henning, Roberson, Jr.: The 5-10 outside hitter led WNC in kills in 2022 with 424 and a .264 hitting percentage. She contributed 271 digs, 32 blocks and 58 aces as well.

Greenlee Flynn, Smoky Mountain, Sr.: The 6-1 middle hitter tallied 215 kills, 21 aces, 52 blocks and 223 digs in 2022.

Emma Bryson, West Henderson, Jr.: The Georgia commit is the reigning All-WNC Player of the Year. She recorded 372 kills while holding a .405 hitting percentage last season. The Falcons’ middle blocker added 115 blocks, 67 digs and 31 aces.

Isabella Baylor, West Henderson, Jr.: The 5-9 outside hitter racked up 305 kills, 25 blocks and 103 digs in 2022.
