West Lafayette boys soccer wins sixth straight sectional title
West Lafayette figured its IHSAA Class 2-A sectional boys soccer title game was going to pan out much differently than its first matchup against Twin Lakes.
Twin Lakes was tied with West Lafayette for the first 40 minutes Saturday, controlled possession and attempted three free kicks 25 yards from the goal box.
But West Lafayette proved it was the tactically superior team, despite improvements made by Twin Lakes.

Junior Joey Balagtas and senior Ian Strachan opened with two goals in the opening 16 minutes of the second half and West Lafayette beat Twin Lakes 4-1 to win the program's sixth consecutive sectional title since 2017.
Strachan led the game with one goal and two assists, senior Maurice Reimer had one goal and one assist, sophomore Oliver Elliot added a goal and junior Nabil Snighdko had an assist for West Lafayette (15-4).
"The sense of urgency really hit us in the second half and we were really combining well," Strachan said. "We were able to find open space, we were attacking well and our chemistry was flawless."
