Arsenal add another two second-half goals to their four-goal buffer from the first 45 minutes, completing a resounding and record-breaking 6-0 victory at the London Stadium. Any hope of West Ham responding after half-time was soon quashed by Bukayo Saka, who lashed in his second and Arsenal's fifth in the 63rd minute. Further salt was rubbed in West Ham's wounds just two minutes later as former captain Declan Rice thumped in a piledriving effort from 25 yards, making it 6-0 with barely any signs of life coming from the home side. Well, how best to describe that first half? Arsenal head into the break an astonishing 4-0 up following a dominant performance in every sense of the word. Early chances for Saka, Trossard and Odegaard were all blocked or saved as West Ham kept their shape in defence, but that shape fell to pieces following Saliba's opening goal from a far-post header. A defence-splitting run from Saka soon yielded a penalty for Arsenal, and the forward made it 2-0 from the spot. The one-way traffic continued at pace, with Gabriel heading in another Rice cross just three minutes later, and the Irons' misery was compounded by Trossard curling in number four in stoppage time.
