Who were the Shore Conference baseball stars from Week 3 of the 2024 season?

Both the divisional races and the county tournament season heated up last week in the Shore Conference.

Here are some outstanding performances from the period of games from April 15-21

An emphasis this week was placed on what took place in the county tournaments.

Dylan Shaffer (Manalapan): Shaffer picked up the save by retiring all six batters he faced on 13 pitches in Manalapan’s 3-1 win over CBA and then struck out 11 and pitched a five-inning two-hitter in Manalapan’s 11-1 win over Freehold Township.

Mason Christopher (Middletown South): A Seton Hall-recruit, Christopher picked up two wins last week by allowing allowing just two runs on nine hits with 14 strikeouts and two walks last week.

Dominic Migliaccio (Monmouth); Migliaccio pitched 5 1/3 innings of scoreless, three-hit ball in the Falcons’ 7-3 win over Raritan in 11 innings.

T.J. Legere (Wall): Legere pitched 4 1/3 innings of scoreless ball in Wall’s 7-5, 16-inning marathon win over Red Bank in a Monmouth County Tournament preliminary-round game. He also went 4-for-5 with two RBI in the Crimson Knights’ come-from-behind 7-6 win over Shore.

Jovani Hallihan (Jackson Memorial): Hallihan pitched a 6 2/3 inning no-hitter in the Jaguars’ 7-0 win over Brick. He struck out 12 and walked five. He then struck out 11, walked two and pitched six innings of two-run, six-hit ball in the Jaguars’ 6-2 win over Manchester in an Ocean County Tournament round of 16 game.

Jack Mika (Toms River East): Mike hurled a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts and one walk in the Raiders’ 6-0 win over Central.

Aiden Lynch (Toms River South): Lynch had two complete-game shutouts, including one against No. 4 seed Point Pleasant Borough in an Ocean County Tournament round of 16 game. He struck out six in both games, walked just two combined and scattered 12 hits.

Ronan Kiely (Colts Neck): Kiely went 4-for-4 with a triple, four RBI and scored two runs in the Cougars’ 9-7 win over Middletown South.

Chris Zahlmann (St. Rose): Zahlmann pitched one-hit ball over the final three innings and struck out four and walked one in the unbeaten Purple Roses' come-from-behind 4-3 win over Manalapan in a MCT preliminary-round game.

Dan Storch (Point Pleasant Beach): Storch’s single in the bottom of the sixth inning drove in the winning run in the unbeaten Garnet Gulls’ come-from-behind 3-2 win over Toms River North in an OCT round of 16 game.
