Brent Karpowich, Bishop Hendricken, Boys Soccer

The Hawks put the lone nick on La Salle in the Division I match of the season and will be dangerous this postseason. Karpowich, a junior midfielder, poured in a hat trick in a 5-4 thriller against Lincoln and added another goal while Bishop Hendricken doubled up Portsmouth, 4-2. The Hawks head into the Division I quarterfinals tonight against Barrington. Karpowich won this week's poll with 48% (24,287 votes) of the more than 50,000 votes cast. Hot on his heels was Matt Restrepo, of Davies, who finished with 44% (22,362).

Ava Normandin, Cumberland, Girls Soccer

The senior midfielder took it upon herself to make sure the Clippers finished unbeaten atop Division I-B. Normandin struck for a pair of goals in a 2-1 win against Chariho, sealing a 14-0-2 close to the regular season. She was also a key piece of Cumberland's win over Smithfield in Thursday's Div. I quarterfinal matchup, getting a ball into the box where teammate Nicole Calle converted it into the game-winner, sending the Clippers to Tuesday’s Division I semifinal against two-time state champ North Kingstown. Normandin is the Storm Works Roofing Athlete of the Week after garnering 60% (20,505 votes) of the more than 34,000 votes cast this week.

Harmony Forrest, Classical, Girls Volleyball

The Purple ended its season in a Division I quarterfinal-round loss to North Kingstown, but the senior closed the regular season with a monster week. She recorded 21 kills in a 3-2 win over East Greenwich, then 12 more in a win over Mount St. Charles. That stellar play made her this week's Storm Works Roofing Athlete of the Week in Girls Volleyball, taking a whopping 65% (2,956 votes) of the 4,568 votes cast.

The Storm Works Roofing & Restoration Athlete of the Week award is meant to be an interactive way for the state’s passionate high school sports communities to show just how much they support their players. We want schools, teams and players to create four-day campaigns to try and garner support and as many votes as possible for one of their own. If you win, you earn those bragging rights.
