The Eagles are on the road in Week 7, as they’ll face the Las Vegas Raiders on the road in a crucial matchup for both teams.
The Eagles are almost to the halfway point of the season and as the NFC playoff picture starts to develop, fans should start to root for certain teams in key matchups, and here’s a look at a few big names to keep an eye on via NFL.com.
Philadelphia currently sits 13th in the NFC playoff picture with one of the NFL’s easiest remaining schedules.
Panther 3-3 at Giants 1-5
Root for the Giants:
The Panthers 3-3 face the Giants 1-5, in a key matchup for both teams, but one that’s supremely important for Carolina. While Sam Darnold and company look to keep pace with the Saints and Buccaneers, the Panthers are currently 9th in playoff position, while the Giants are 15th.
The Eagles would hold the advantage over Carolina by virtue of their win earlier this season, and you can root for a Giants win, knowing Philadelphia and New York will meet two times in the finals five weeks.
Washington 2-4 at Green Bay 5-1
Root for Green Bay:
The Packers are 5-1 on the season and rolling towards another NFC North title and they can force the Washington Football Team further down in the standings. Washington is currently second in the NFC East and will have two matchups with the Eagles looming as well.
Bears 3-3 at Buccaneers 5-1
Root for Tampa:
This is another matchup that can dictate playoff standings and with an extra playoff spot available, it’s crucial that Tampa Bay thumps Chicago at home.
The 3-3 Bears are currently one game out of the 7th playoff spot, while Tampa is battling for the No. 1 seed.
Root for 49ers:
You can’t actually root for both teams, but for the Colts, it’s all about the snaps for Wentz and potential draft compensation. The 2-3 49ers currently sit at 10th in the NFC playoff standings.
Saints 3-2 at Seahawks 2-4
Root for Seahawks:
The 3-2 Saints sit in the 6th place in the playoff picture, while Seattle is 2-4, without Russell Wilson and 14, one game behind the Eagles (13th) for a playoff spot.
