Week 7 NIC-10 football leaders: Hononegah duo is chasing rare NIC-10 feat

Teammates have each had 600 yards receiving four times in NIC-10 history. Hononegah's Isaiah Houi and Cole Schmall could make it five.

Former Notre Dame basketball player Ryan Hoover (685) and John Hemenway (641) finished first and third in the league in receiving for Hononegah in 1990. Brandt Hixson (900) and Jalon Benson (657) of Harlem both topped 600 in 2019. In the shortened COVID season, Harlem's Dominic McCarren (647) and Dezzion Jordan (642) each averaged over 100 yards. So did Belvidere's Phil Kolk (1,181 yards) and Will Morris (838 in eight games) in 2016. Houi (503 yards) and Schmall (438) are bidding to join that illustrious company, ranking first and second in the NIC-10 in receiving yards after seven games.
