Week 4 Scoreboard: Lexington beats Mount Vernon, improves to 2-2
MANSFIELD — The 2023 high school football season is nearing its mid-way point.
With Week 4 in the books, all attention has turned to Week 5, but before we get there, let's take a look at some scores from around the area to polish off another successful Friday night.

Lexington 31, Mount Vernon 17
The Lexington Minutemen used a big second-half effort to earn an Ohio Cardinal Conference win over Lexington 31-17 on Friday night.
After falling behind 17-7 in the second quarter, Joe Caudill had a one-yard touchdown run to get the Minutemen on the board, Seven Allen scored on a 96-yard kickoff return to pull Lexington to within three before handing it over to the defense which held the Yellow Jackets scoreless for the rest of the game.
Markale Martin had 169 yards rushing with two touchdown runs of eight and six yards while Caudill added 130 yards on the ground and 88 through the air.
The Minutemen improve to 2-2 on the year and travel to Wooster in Week 5.
Wooster 27, Madison 14
The Madison Rams hung right with Wooster before faltering late falling 27-14 in Ohio Cardinal Conference action on Friday night.
The Rams fall to 0-4 and host West Holmes in Week 5.
Western Reserve 47, Plymouth 14
The Plymouth Big Red dropped to 2-2 on the season after falling to Western Reserve 47-14 in the Firelands Conference opener.
After falling behind 28-0, the Big Red got on the board with 6:26 left in the second quarter by recovering a fumble in the end zone, but the Roughriders pushed the lead out to 41-6 by halftime as the second half went with a running clock.
The Big Red travels to St. Paul in Week 5.
