Week 11 Rooting Guide: Best outcomes for Eagles with playoff picture developing

The Eagles (8-1) have a huge Monday night matchup against the Chiefs (7-2) fast approaching, and it’s just one of several games that’ll have playoff implications.

Philadelphia and Kansas City will finish Week 11 on ESPN/ABC, and the Sunday slate of games offers several intriguing matchups and plenty of rooting scenarios in the NFC and AFC.

The Cowboys have dominated inferior competition in 2023, averaging 33.7 points per game against opponents with a losing record this season.

The Dallas defense is allowing 18.3 points per game (fourth in the NFL) and 275.1 total yards per game (third). A Carolina win would be the upsets of upsets, but the Cowboys are peaking at the right time.

Chicago Bears (3-7) at Detroit Lions (7-2), 1 p.m. (FOX)

Justin Fields has had some dynamic moments, and as the Bears quarterback returns to the lineup looking to prove that he’s the face of the franchise, the Lions are surging as legit Super Bowl contender.

The Detroit defense gave up 421 yards to the Chargers in Week 10 and 503 yards to the Ravens in Week 7. Still, Chicago ranks 27th in points allowed and Detroit ranks sixth in points scored.

The Eagles and 49ers are two weeks away from a NFC title game rematch, and the gritty Buccaneers could themselves (NFC South) and Philadelphia one huge favor.

Matthew Stafford is expected to return after injuring his right thumb in Week 8 and he’s undefeated against Seattle as the starter since 2021.

Philadelphia and Seattle are slated for a Week 15 showdown that could have significant playoff implications.

Minnesota Vikings (6-4) at Denver Broncos (4-5), 8:20 p.m. (NBC and Peacock)

Joshua Dobbs has led Minnesota to consecutive victories, extending the NFL’s longest active win streak to five games.
