TEAM OF THE WEEK
Union Grove
A pair of shutout wins earns Union Grove our team of the week nod, starting with a 7-0 Southern Lakes victory over Burlington last Tuesday. Senior Owen Zikowski and sophomores Niall Hagen and Ethan Barsch were credited with two goals apiece. Hagen also tallied a pair of assists, Barsch had another one and sophomores Peyton Hoard and Cristian Gutierrez each assisted on a goal as well. Then on Saturday in a 3-0 win over Appleton East, Hagen, Hoard and Barsch all scored to round out the offense. Assists were credited to Hoard and sophomore Owen Sheahan in the victory.
Freshman keeper Finn Jacobs held down the goal with two saves in each shutout win. The young Broncos entered the week fourth in the Southern Lakes Conference (2-2), but the future is bright led by a host of underclassmen talent.
