Watch: Mark Scheifele fires a laser past Pekka Rinne to pad lead
Mark Scheifele can shoot the damn puck.
The Winnipeg forward’s sniping prowess was on full display during the second period of Friday’s Game 1 clash between the Jets and Predators, picking up a nifty drop pass from Blake Wheeler at the top of the circle, dragging it to the middle of the ice and ripping one past Pekka Rinne to give the Jets a 3-0 lead.

The Predators goaltender was pulled in favour of Juuse Saros to start the third period after allowing three goals on 16 shots through 40 minutes.
With his fifth tally of the postseason, Scheifele sits two goals back of Jake Guentzel and Sidney Crosby for the playoff lead. He currently ranks first in postseason points and goals for the Jets, who picked up their first second-round victory in franchise history 4-1 over the Preds.
