Who are the top players to watch?

Here are some players for each team who will be key to the game.

CSU-PUEBLO

  • Makiah Morris: The 6-foot-3 guard has been key in everything for CSU-Pueblo. He's second on the team in scoring (14.4 points per game), shooting 46.7 from 3-point land. He's first in rebounds (6.1 per game), assists (3.9 per game) and steals (2.3 per game).

  • Brevin Walter: The 6-foot-4 guard is a transfer from South Dakota Mines. So far this season, he's leading the Thunderwolves in scoring at 19 points per game.

  • Daeyon James: The 6-foot-6 guard is averaging 12.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game and has the most 3-pointers on the team, shooting at a 43% clip from deep.

COLORADO STATE

  • Joel Scott: The 6-foot-7 big man transfer is plenty familiar with facing CSU-Pueblo and it's gone well for him. Scott came from Black Hills State, an RMAC foe of CSU-Pueblo. In five career games against the Thunderwolves, Scott is averaging 25 points per game with a high of 35 in one game. He shot 62.5% from the field in those games and over 50% from 3-point land.

  • Isaiah Stevens: CSU's star guard already owns the Mountain West and school assist record. He's closing in on another huge one. Stevens is 31 points from tying Pat Durham as CSU's all-time leading scorer.

  • Tavi Jackson: The reserve point guard missed the first seven games of the season but has played in the last three. He's been dogged defensively, but the rust has showed on offense. This is a game CSU could win big and, if so, it could give Jackson more time to get comfortable. His minutes have gone from 1 to 13 to 19 in his three games. If the Rams take control early, he could get an extended run-out.
