Who: No. 22 Florida State (11-3, 2-0 ACC) vs. No. 3 NC State (13-0, 1-0)

When/Where: 7 p.m., Thursday, James T. Valvano Arena at William Neal Reynolds Coliseum, Raleigh, NC

TV/Radio: ACCNX/101.5 FM

3-pointers: The Seminoles are coming off their fourth straight win, taking down Wake Forest, 73-61. They have now won four of their last five meetings over the Demon Deacons dating back to 2022. FSU has also jetted out to a 2-0 start in ACC play...sophomore guard Ta'Niya Latson has downed 60 points in two games with back-to-back 30-point performances. She's averaging an impressive 20.8 points per game and has a season-high of 35 points, which came in a 79-75 win over Florida...Junior Makayla Timpson is coming off her second straight double-double performance and her seventh of the season. She had 11 points and 12 pulldowns in the win over Wake Forest.

What FSU needs to do to win: This will be the third time this season that FSU will face a top 4 team as it has lost to then-No. 4 Stanford (100-88) and No. 2 UCLA (95-78)...The Wolfpack has one of the best defenses in the country as it has limited its opponents to just a 31.9 field goal shooting percentage this season, which ranks fourth nationally. NC State is averaging 34.8 defensive rebounds per game, which ranks second in the country. FSU will need to find ways to work around this defense, likely leaning on its perimeter play...On offense, NC State has shown that it leans more on a group scoring effort rather than one or two players. Six players are averaging double-scoring figures this season, led by Aziaha James (15.5 ppg). Saniya Rivers follows closely with 13.3 points per game. FSU will need to focus on these two, but be aware of what the rest of the starters and even the bench can do scoring-wise.
