WATCH: 49ers secure incredible late win over Saints in NFC clash

Arguably the two best teams, in what is a stacked NFC this season, met on Sunday night and did not disappoint.

It took a 30-yard field goal in the game’s dying moments for the San Francisco 49ers to seal a 48-46 victory over the New Orleans Saints, meaning that as it stands the road to the Super Bowl goes through California.

Robbie Gould’s ice-cool kick came courtesy of Jimmy Garoppolo (who passed for 349 yards and four touchdowns) finding George Kittle for a 39-yard gain on fourth-and-two.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees had an equally impressive outing, completing 29 of his 40 attempts and finishing with 349 yards and five touchdowns.

The victory leaves San Francisco (11-2) in pole position to secure the top seed in the NFC playoffs. While the Saints are just behind with their 10-3 record – the same as the Seahawks and the Packers.
