Washington State transfer Dishon Jackson commits to Texas Tech basketball

The Texas Tech men's basketball team added more size to the rotation Monday.

Dishon Jackson, a 6-foot-10 post, announced his commitment to the Red Raiders via Twitter. Jackson spent the previous three years at Washington State, where he averaged 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds in 49 career games with 19 starts.

Jackson missed the entire 2022-23 season with what he announced as an undisclosed medical condition. His last on-court action came March 29, 2022 against Texas A&M in the National Invitation Tournament. His bio on the Washington State athletics site notes Jackson dealt with injury throughout the '21-22 campaign.

The Oakland, Calif., native continues the West Coast rebuild of the Red Raiders. Earlier this offseason, Tech added Darrion Williams (Nevada), Chance McMillian (Grand Canyon) and Warren Washington (Arizona State).

The newcomers join returning guards Pop Isaacs, Kerwin Walton, Lamar Washington, D'Maurian Williams and forward Robert Jennings. KyeRon Lindsay, a 6-8 forward, transferred to Tech in January and is included in the 2023 transfer class after coming in from Georgia.

Jackson's arrival brings the Tech roster to 12 players, joining incoming freshmen 6-5 Drew Steffe of Frisco and 6-8 Eemeli Yalaho, a Finland native who spent last year playing for Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio.
