Warriors, Jumpers put in work at Patriot Games

Mar. 24—The Southwestern Warriors and Somerset Briar Jumpers made the short trek to Stanford over the weekend to compete in the Patriot Games hosted by Lincoln County. Several athletes were able to come up with high finishes during the events, with Southwestern themselves earning some first-place finishes.

In the boys' 100m, Somerset's Tyson Absher finished in fifth with a time of 11.51, with Southwestern's Kameron Cox finishing just behind him in sixth with a time of 11.52. Other finishers included Southwestern's Dashuan Sejour in ninth with a time of 11.65 and Somerset's Cameron Mccaskill in 12th with a time of 12.15.

In the boys' 200m, Southwestern's Victor Colyer finished in second place with a time of 23.33, while Southwestern's Kaden Hewitt came in ninth with a time of 25.54.

In the boys' 400m, Colyer again came in second with a time of 54.12, with Somerset's Eli Eastham finishing in 10th with a time of 58.03. Other finishers included Southwestern's Valor Pennington in 11th with a time of 58.40 and Somerset's Bryson Stone in 13th with a time of 1:00.31.

In the boys' 800m, Southwestern's Zabrey Bortz finished in a time of 2:14.36, good enough for third, while Southwestern's Drew Kelly finished ninth with a time of 2:24.75. Other finishers included Somerset's Cameron Albright in 15th with a time of 2:36.99 and Somerset's Kevin Meija in 17th with a time of 2:41.76.

Bortz came in fourth in the boys' 1600m, finishing in a time of 5:01.13, with Kelly finishing eighth in a time of 5:11.44. Albright finished 17th in a time of 5:45.24, while Somerset's John Lackey finished 19th with a time of 6:07.40.

Southwestern's Hunter Troxtle finished eighth in the boys' 3200m, finishing in a time of 11:47.01. Other finishers included Southwestern's Hayden Cummins in 13th with a time of 12:55.08, Somerset's Noah Prather in 14th with a time of 13:02.27 and Lackey in 16th with a time of 13:31.26.

In the boys' 110m hurdles, Southwestern's Steven Flynn finished sixth with a time of 20.20, while Southwestern's Tyler Phelps finished seventh with a time of 20.40.

In the boys' 300m hurdles, Flynn came in seventh with a time of 49.62, while Southwestern's Gunner Schlosser finished 10th in a time of 53.38.

Somerset's team of Grayson Gulock, Kevin Meija, Corban Cimala and Tyson Absher finished second in the boys' 4x100m relay in a time of 49.13. Southwestern's team of Riley Stinson, Dashaun Sejour, Gage Anderson and Kameron Cox finished third in a time of 49.59.

In the boys' 4x200m relay, Southwestern's team of Cox, Stinson, Sejour and Victor Colyer finished second with a time of 1:38.58. Somerset's team of Absher, Robey Browning, Eli Eastham and Jamal Tilley finished third with a time of 1:42.23.

In the boys' 4x400m relay, Southwestern's team of Colyer, Ben Coomer, Valor Pennington and Michael Seiber finished third with a time of 3:51.02. Somerset's team of Cimala, Bryson Stone, Meija and Eastham finished fifth with a time of 4:06.56.

In the boys' 4x800m relay, Southwestern's team of Seiber, Coomer, Hunter Troxtle and Hayden Cummins finished sixth with a time of 9:56.20. Somerset's team of Stone, Eastham, Meija and Cameron Albright finished eighth with a time of 10:18.80.

In the boys' high jump, Southwestern's Kaden Hewitt finished third with a height of 6-00.00. Somerset's Bryson Stone finished eighth, with Southwestern's Valor Pennington finishing ninth.

Somerset's Tyson Absher finished fourth in the boys' long jump with a distance of 19-08.00. Other finishers included Southwestern's Kameron Cox in eighth, Southwestern's Steven Flynn in 10th and Somerset's Jackson Burgess in 13th.

Hewitt finished in second in the boys' triple jump with a distance of 39-10.25. Other finishers included Burgess in fifth and Somerset's Corban Cimala in ninth.

In the boys' pole vault, Southwestern's Michael Seiber finished third with a height of 8-06.00. Other finishers included Somerset's Jonas Blakeman in fourth and Southwestern's Bryce Bateman in sixth.

In the boys' discus, Southwestern's Nico Pascarella finished in fifth with a distance of 111-06.00. Other finishers included Somerset's Braxton Wheeler in ninth and Somerset's Sam Miller in 17th.

In the boys' shot put, Southwestern's Nikolas Tucker finished in fourth with a distance of 40-00.00. Other finishers included Southwestern's Valor Pennington in 11th, Somerset's Wheeler in 16th and Somerset's Miller in 19th.

In the girls' 100m, Somerset's Emma Midden finished in third with a time of 13.39, while her teammate Hannaha Boyer finished in sixth with a time of 13.50. Other finishers included Southwestern's Emma Sears in 16th with a time of 15.39 and Southwestern's Kaylee Creek in 24th with a time of 16.69.

In the girls' 200m, Midden again finished third with a time of 28.15, with Southwestern's Shelby Lockard finishing in sixth with a time of 28.39. Other finishers included Somerset's Boyer in eighth with a time of 29.34 and Southwestern's Clare Marie Ramsey in ninth with a time of 29.99.

In the girls' 400m, Southwestern's Madeline Peterson finished 12th with a time of 1:16.64, with her teammate Nahia Galarregui finishing 14th with a time of 1:17.40.

Southwestern's Shaye Seiber won the girls' 800m with a time of 2:36.12, with her teammate Olivia Huff finishing second with a time of 2:39.65.

Seiber also won the girls' 1600m with a time of 5:51.47, with her teammate Madeline Peterson finishing third with a time of 6:27.98.

In the girls' 3200m, Southwestern's Brylee Troxtle finished eighth with a time of 15:41.27. Southwestern's Galarregui finished ninth with a time of 15:50.86.

In the girls' 100m hurdles, Somerset's Jaycee Cothron finished fifth with a time of 20.41. Other finishers included Southwestern's Ansley Mounce in sixth with a time of 20.95 and Southwestern's Kya Rowlands in ninth with a time of 24.98.

In the girls' 300m hurdles, Southwestern's Shelby Lockard finished fourth with a time of 56.64, with her teammate Ansley Mounce finishing sixth with a time of 58.77.

In the girls' 4x100m relay, Somerset's team of Hannaha Boyer, Jaycee Cothron, Adyson Wharf and Emma Midden finished sixth with a time of 1:01.17. Southwestern's team of A.J. Perrin, Kya Rowlands, Reagan Butt and Emma Sears finished seventh with a time of 1:01.31.

Southwestern's team of Ansley Mounce, Clare Marie Ramsey, Shelby Lockard and Olivia Huff finished third in the girls' 4x200m relay with a time of 2:00.99.

In the girls' 4x400m relay, Southwestern's team of Huff, Ramsey, Ansley Mounce and Shaye Seiber finished second with a time of 4:32.20. Somerset's team of Wharf, Garrah Vanover, Macie Parker and Hope Hoffman finished eighth with a time of 5:37.47.

In the girls' 4x800m relay, Southwestern's team of Huff, Lockard, Seiber and Madeline Peterson finished in first place with a time of 11:16.00.

In the girls' high jump, Southwestern's Clare Marie Ramsey finished seventh with a height of 4-04.00.

In the girls' long jump, Southwestern's Madeline Peterson finished fourth with a height of 13-09.00.

Neither team had an athlete place in the girls' triple jump.

In the girls' pole vault, Southwestern's A.J. Perrin finished third with a height of 7-00.00.

In the girls' discus, Southwestern's Chloe Brotherton finished sixth with a distance of 75-11.00, while her teammate Claire Peterson finished 14th.

In the girls' shot put, Southwestern's Grace Shoopman finished 11th with a distance of 22-04.00, while her teammate Sia Taylor finished 13th.

Both teams will next compete at the Madison Central All-Comers meet on Tuesday.
