‘I wanted to go’: Dalen Terry on embracing his time in G League

The Chicago Bulls rookie Dalen Terry resurfaced with the team after a two-game stint in the G League with the Windy City Bulls.

For Terry, after only playing a total of 22 minutes this season with the Bulls, his assignment with in the G League was welcomed.

“I wanted to go,” Terry said following Windy City’s win on Sunday. “I’ve been asking to go down.”

In two games with Windy City on Saturday and Sunday, Terry averaged 16 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game.

“I just love to play basketball,” Terry said. “I’m not here for the money or anything like that. I just love to play. If it’s limited time up here, I’d rather go down there and work on some things.”

On Saturday, Terry had a near triple-double in Windy City’s 126-121 win, finishing with 18 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists. On Sunday, Terry had 14 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in the 121-105 victory.

Following Windy City’s game on Sunday, Terry rejoined the Bulls for their 126-103 loss against the Denver Nuggets, scoring five points in five minutes in garbage time.

“It was a great experience. It felt good to go against somebody besides the imagination in my head,” the Bulls rookie said. “There’s no better way to get back into game shape than going down and playing some games.”
