Want to bike to the Principal Charity Classic? This new ride has free perks

The Principal Charity Classic is adding a new way for spectators to get to the course and enjoy some free perks. The golf tournament is launching a new Pedal to the PCC bike ride for championship Sunday.

How can I attend Pedal to the PCC?

The event is free, but registration is required.

Registered participants will receive a free admission ticket to the Principal Charity Classic on Sunday, June 2, a map of the recommended route, free bike valet at the tournament, a free drink coupon to be used on-course and a water bottle. Participants will also be entered to win a free bike donated by Bike World.

What's the route for Pedal to the PCC?

Tournament organizers said in a news release that the ride starts at a parking ramp in downtown Des Moines, goes to Big Grove off Ingersoll Avenue and back through downtown Des Moines before ending at Wakonda Club, the host venue for the Principal Chairty Classic.

What is the Principal Charity Classic?

The Principal Charity Classic is an annual PGA Tour Champions event held at the Wakonda Club in Des Moines. In a news release officials said the event is, "dedicated to investing in the future of Iowa kids."

In 2023, the Principal Charity Classic raised $8 million for charity, making the tournament’s giving total over $50 million since 2007. Tournament funds benefit organizations that provide support to kids in Iowa in terms of education and culture, financial security and stability, and health and wellness.
