CCA's Lally, Assumption's Diaz voted Houma- and Thibodaux-area Barker Honda Athletes of the Week
The votes have closed for this week's Barker Honda Athlete of the Week in Houma- and Thibodaux-area high school sports, and this week's winners are Connor Lally of Covenant Christian Academy track and field for the boys and Whitney Diaz of Assumption softball for the girls.
Lally won the javelin throw at the River Parish Relays with his distance of 139 feet and nine inches. He received 51.4% of the vote, well ahead of runner-up Alex Williams of Terrebonne and third-place finisher Rafi Cuartas of Houma Christian.

Diaz hit a home run against South Terrebonne, already her seventh of the season. She received 49.6% of the vote, good to beat out two track runners, runner-up Layla Brown of Terrebonne and third-place Jenna Allemand of E.D. White.
