Vote for the SouthCoast High School Girls Athlete of the Week for April 29-May 5
The winner of last week’s Girls Athlete of the Week poll was Apponequet’s Jayleigh Howarth. She had 73% of the vote to receive the honor. Howarth had a combined 11 goals in three games.
Previous winners were Apponequet’s Abby Bradley, Bishop Stang’s Sofie Doucet and Old Rochester’s Neva Matos.
The winner of the Preseason Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year poll was GNB Voc-Tech’s Casalice Dias. The winner of the Preseason Girls Tennis Player of the Year poll was Old Rochester’s Neva Matos.

GIRLS TRACK
Morgan Hayward, Apponequet
Against Somerset Berkley, Hayward won the high jump, 200 and 400 hurdles.
Orianna Hernandez, Apponequet
Hernandez came in first in the long jump and triple jump against Somerset Berkley.
Emily Abbott, Old Rochester
Abbott took first in the triple jump and 800 against West Bridgewater.
Sienna Cabe, Wareham
Cabe was first in the long jump and triple jump against Southeastern.
Katyra Campbell, Wareham
Campbell won the shot put and discus against Southeastern.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Ally Arruda, Apponequet
Arruda has a combined 14 saves in a pair of games and notched her 400th career saves against Old Rochester.
Cece Levrault, Apponequet
In three games, Levrault had a combined 15 goals, including six against New Bedford.
Addie Taylor, Apponequet
In three games, Taylor had a combined 10 goals.
Sofie Doucet, Bishop Stang
In a win over Seekonk, Doucet had a team-high four goals.
Ava Jackson, Bishop Stang
In two games, Jackson had a combined five goals.
Grace Haskell, Dartmouth
Haskell recorded a combined 12 goals and two assists in a pair of games against Plymouth North and Fairhaven.
Sarah Kelly, Dartmouth
Kelly had three goals and four assists against Plymouth North.
Ava Ferrero, Fairhaven
Ferrero had the first two goals of her varsity career against Bourne.
Sophia Fleurent, Fairhaven
Fleurent had a combined three goals and three assists in a pair of games.
Christina Pimentel, Fairhaven
In two games, Pimentel had a combined five goals and one assist.
Anissa Paiva, GNB Voc-Tech
Paiva had four goals and two assists against Southeastern.
Taylor Pearson, GNB Voc-Tech
Pearson notched a team-high five goals in a win over Southeastern.
Hannah Blanchard, New Bedford
Blanchard had a team-high four goals in a win over Taunton.
Logan Crook, Old Colony
Crook had four goals in a win over Bourne.
Abby Pitts, Old Colony
In two games, Pitts had a combined 13 goals, including the 200th of her career against Bourne.
GIRLS TENNIS
Kohana Fontinha, Apponequet
Fontinha won her first singles matches against Dartmouth and Seekonk.
Katherine Johnson, Bishop Stang
Johnson won her second singles matches against Old Rochester and St. Mary’s.
Cami Taradash, Dartmouth
Taradash won all three of her second singles matches against Bridgewater-Raynham, New Bedford and Apponequet.
Elizabeth DaCunha, Fairhaven
DaCunha went 4-0 in her first singles matches, beating Westport, Bourne, West Bridgewater and Diman.
Sabrina Zheng, Fairhaven
Zheng won her second singles matches against Westport, Bourne, West Bridgewater and Diman.
Emma Gibney, New Bedford
Gibney won her first singles matches against Dartmouth and Durfee.
Neva Matos, Old Rochester
Matos won her first singles matches against Case, Bourne and Bishop Stang to remain undefeated.
Brooklyn Bindas, Wareham
Bindas won her first singles matches against Diman and Dighton-Rehoboth to stay perfect on the season.
