Vote for the SouthCoast High School Boys Athlete of the Week for April 8-14

The winner of last week’s Boys Athlete of the Week poll was Wareham’s Ty-Rell Pires. He had more than 4,000 votes (54%) to receive the honor. Pires won the shot put and discus against Cape Cod Tech.

The winner of the Preseason Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year poll was Old Colony’s Stu Burnham with more than 6,000 votes (56%). Old Rochester’s Andrew Nee was second followed by Bishop Stang’s Will Sanders and Old Colony’s Ryan Letendre.

Each week during the regular season, we will highlight the top performances.

Here’s your chance to vote for the top high school performance from the past week.

BOYS LACROSSE

Eli Ikkela, Bishop Stang

Ikkela had a team-high two goals in a loss to Arlington Catholic.

Jackson Hart, Dartmouth

In wins over Apponequet and New Bedford, Hart had a combined nine goals and three assists.

Lennox Massucco, Dartmouth

Massucco had two goals and six assists in a win over New Bedford.

Barrett Becotte, Fairhaven

Becotte had a combined seven goals and one assist for Fairhaven in three games.

Nathan Pearson, GNB Voc-Tech

Pearson had a combined five goals in a pair of games.

Stu Burnham, Old Colony

Burnham had a combined five goals and 11 assists in three games.

Luke Meelia, Old Colony

In three games, Meelia had a combined 17 goals and four assists. He had 10 goals against Cape Cod-Tech.

Andrew Nee, Old Rochester

In two games, Nee had a combined 11 goals and three assists. He scored nine goals against GNB Voc-Tech.

BOYS TRACK

Tommy Smith, Apponequet

Smith won the triple jump and 400 hurdles against Old Rochester.

Hunter Bishop, Old Rochester

Bishop took first in the discus and javelin against Apponequet.

Ty-Rell Pires, Wareham

Pires won the shot put and discus against Bristol-Plymouth.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Colin Stuessi, GNB Voc-Tech

Stuessi had a combined 38 kills and 23 digs in a pair of games against Lincoln Sudbury and Essex Tech.

Carter Barbosa, New Bedford

In three games, Barbosa had a combined 81 assists. He also had eight digs against GNB Voc-Tech and 11 service points against Barnstable.

Juan Grau Montano, New Bedford

Montano had a combined 26 kills in three games. He also had 11 digs against GNB Voc-Tech.

BOYS TENNIS

Nate Belmore, Apponequet

Belmore won his first singles match against Somerset Berkley.

Brian Ward, Bishop Stang

Ward captured his first singles win over Bishop Fenwick.

Luke Bloom-Glover, Dartmouth

Bloom-Glover won his first singles match against Bishop Stang.

Landon Stewart, Wareham

Stewart won his first singles match against Carver.
