NorthWood's Connor Reed wins South Bend Tribune Athlete of the Week vote, April 8-14, 2024
Congratulations to NorthWood junior Connor Reed for winning the South Bend Tribune Athlete of the Week poll for April 8-14, 2024. Reed had a come-from-behind win in the vote, taking the lead in the final 12 hours to hold off the competition.

WINNER: NorthWood baseball junior Connor Reed
Reed went a combined 5-for-10 with six RBI at the plate in two wins over Elkhart and Fairfield this week. He also pitched 3 2/3 innings against the Falcons to earn the win in that contest.
OTHER NOMINEES
Buchanan softball senior Hailee Kara
In a week that saw the Bucks go 6-0, Kara pitched complete games in three of them. She only allowed three total runs and struck out 20 batters in those contests as well. At the plate, she had five RBI across the six games.
Elkhart baseball sophomore Man Shreiner
Shreiner batted .429 across four games this week with a home run and nine RBI. He punctuated the week with a walk-off two-RBI double to beat Warsaw, 3-2, Saturday afternoon.
Fairfield boys golf junior Brayden Miller
Miller started his season strong, firing a 2-under 34 in a nine-hole match with Elkhart and Concord Tuesday, then earning medalist honors with a 72 to win the Goshen Invitational Saturday. The Falcons won both matches.
Penn boys track senior Elijah Coker
Coker was a three-time winner at the Caveman Classic Friday, winning in the 200-meter dash (20.10 seconds) as a member of the 4X100-meter relay team (41.70 seconds) and setting a new meet record in the long jump with a leap of 23-10 feet.
South Bend Riley softball junior Kaelynn Howell
Howell pitched a five-inning no-hitter in a 10-0 win over Goshen Tuesday. She had a combined seven RBI in two games, driving in three against Goshen and four via a grand slam in a 19-0 win over Washington Wednesday.
