THE VOTES ARE IN! Kagan Davis of Sunray is Male Happy State Bank Athlete of the Week

THE VOTES ARE IN! It's time to unveil the first Happy State Bank Male Athlete of the Week for the 2023-24 season. A whopping 72,278 votes were submitted, but in the end, there can only be one.

The winner this week is: Kagan Davis, WR/DB from Sunray.

Davis totaled 29,850 votes, a commanding 41.30% of those cast. He more than earned it after he hauled in two interceptions and forced a fumble on defense while catching six passes for 69 yards against Hooker (Oklahoma).

There were many other strong performers as well. Aden Woodard of Wildorado came in second with a highly respectable 21,929 votes, 30.34% of those cast. Woodard ran for 346 yards and six touchdowns, ran a kick back 75 yards for a score and had 16 tackles against Lefors.

Pake Babbs came in third (11,254 votes, 15.57%) after posting four sacks against Fritch. Dalhart's Kyler Read (4,480 votes, 6.2%) and Highland Park's Elyes Torres (2,780, 3.85%) also had strong showings.

Tascosa's Coltyn Fulton, Canyon's Boston Bell, Canadian's Camren Cavalier, Bushland's Dawson Jaco, and Pampa's Bryce Lynn were all candidates as well.
