Vote: Oklahoma City area boys high school athletes of week, Jan. 23

Voting for The Oklahoman's high school boys athletes of the week poll presented by Landmark Fine Homes is now open for Jan. 16-22 in basketball, swimming and wrestling.

Fans can vote until noon Sunday. You don't have to be a subscriber to vote. Votes are limited to one per hour, per device.

The winners of the Jan. 9-15 poll were Isaiah Amous of Norman basketball, Jack Powell of Harding Charter Prep swimming and Dimitri Kizer of Del City wrestling.

Basketball

Clyde Davis Jr., Jr., Deer Creek: Davis received Bruce Gray Invitational MVP honors after a dominant 17-point performance lifted the Antlers over Midwest City in the title game. He's currently averaging 15.7 points and 1.6 steals per game for Deer Creek.

Jase Edwards, Sr., Tecumseh: Edwards became the fifth player in school history to surpass 1,000 career points following a 20-point performance in a win over Sulphur on Friday.

Kobe Freeman, Jr., Purcell: Freeman had a historic week during the Heart of Oklahoma Tournament in Purcell, scoring 50 points on the OKC Knights and averaging 35 points in the tournament. The junior is currently averaging 26 points for the Dragons on 55% shooting through 16 games.

Carlsheon Young, Jr., Midwest City: Young was dominant in the Bombers' appearance in the Bruce Gray Invitational over the weekend. The Oklahoma State commit averaged 26 points and nine rebounds for Midwest City, which finished as runner-up in the tournament.

Swimming

Gavin Davis, Sr., Mustang: He won the 100-yard breaststroke (1 minute, 2.52 seconds) at the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference meet Saturday in Edmond.

Riley Conway, Jr., Edmond North: He had four victories as he helped Edmond North win the COAC meet. Conway posted wins in the 50 freestyle (21.74), 100 freestyle (50.38), 200 freestyle relay (1:32.51) and 400 freestyle relay (3:23.60).

Keegan Lassiter, Sr., Mount St. Mary: He won the 50 freestyle (25.24) and 200 individual medley (2:16.41) in a meet Thursday at Harrah. The meet included Chickasha, Choctaw, Greater Ada Swim Club, Harrah, Heritage Hall, Mount St. Mary, Shawnee and OKC Storm.

JD Thumann, So., Norman: He had a dominant day at the COAC meet, winning the 100 backstroke (51.16) and 200 individual medley (1:55.85).

Wrestling

Logan Ashford, Sr., Moore: He placed third against a talented field in the 157-pound division at the Jay Hancock Memorial Invitational in Yukon on Saturday.

Tyler Jones, Jr., Douglass: He placed second at 144 pounds at the Ray Murphy Jr. Memorial Tournament at Tulsa Nathan Hale on Saturday.

Destry Lujan, So., Yukon: He finished as the 215-pound runner-up at the Jay Hancock Memorial Invitational.

Devon Miller, Jr., Edmond North: The Navy commit and Westmoore transfer handed Tulsa Cascia Hall’s Gerald Harris III his first loss of the season Saturday. Miller beat Harris in an ultimate tiebreaker in the championship match at the Jay Hancock Memorial Invitational. Edmond North won the team title.
