Results: North Jersey Hockey 3 Stars of the Week for Jan. 22-28

After four days of voting, Passaic Tech senior defenseman Joseph Kwiecinski, Morristown Beard freshman goalie Mason Hriczov and Verona/Glen Ridge senior forward Jack MacEvoy were selected as the North Jersey Hockey 3 Stars of the Week.

The Bulldogs offensively ran through Kwiecinski this week as the senior had three assists in a 6-0 win over Wayne on Friday. On Sunday, Passaic Tech trailed 2-0 early before Kwiecinski led the charge. A goal and three assists resulted from five straight Bulldogs goals in a 5-2 win over Mahwah.

Hriczov stopped all 27 shots he faced in a 7-0 shutout win over Chatham during a key Mennen division matchup on Friday. It was the second shutout of the season for the freshman and the fourth win of the year for the first-year netminder.

MacEvoy has been a strong offensive threat this week for VGR. MacEvoy had two goals and two assists in a 4-0 win over Scotch Plains-Fanwood on Friday. Two days later, MacEvoy had a hat trick and an assist in a 6-0 win over Newton.
