Zach Schweid voted North Jersey Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 1-7
After four days of voting, Demarest junior Zach Schweid was selected as the North Jersey Boys Basketball Player of the Week.
Schweid guided the Norsemen (7-2) to a 3-0 week. He averaged 20.7 points, making all six free throws and scoring a season-high 26 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in a 56-37 win over Tenafly.

Sean Golden
River Dell senior
Golden stayed hot for the Golden Hawks (3-5) during a 1-1 week. He averaged 20.5 points and 11.5 rebounds, producing 27 points and 16 boards in a 64-49 victory over Westwood.
Johnny Jackson
Ridgewood junior
Jackson paced the Maroons (10-1) to three victories and he surpassed 1,000 career points. He averaged 29.3 points, and he surpassed 1,000 by scoring 26 in a 55-51 victory over Hackensack.
Ashawn Johnson
Manchester junior
Johnson spearheaded the Falcons (4-5) to a 3-0 week. He averaged 16.7 points and 7.7 rebounds, and he had 19 points, 10 boards, two steals and one block in a 53-47 victory over Community.
Brady Loughlin
Don Bosco junior
Loughlin led the Ironmen (8-2) to three wins to stretch their winning streak to four games. He averaged 17.0 points, and he hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 16 in a 54-45 victory at St. Joseph.
Jael Martinez
Bergenfield senior
Martinez guided the Bears (6-4) to three wins, with each game decided by five points or less. He averaged 10.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.3 steals, scoring 16 in a 49-47 win over Old Tappan.
Luis Placido
New Milford junior
Placido led the Knights (8-1) to a 3-0 week to extend their winning streak to four games. He averaged 18.7 points, and he hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 17 in a 63-60 overtime win over Mahwah.
Matthew Remias
Rutherford junior
Remias paced the Bulldogs (8-1) to a 2-0 week to stretch their winning streak to four games. He averaged 21.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks, scoring 25 in a 58-41 win over Weehawken.
Victor Torres
St. Mary senior
Torres drove the Gaels (9-0) to a 3-0 week. He averaged 20.7 points and 9.7 rebounds, and he had 21 points, 13 boards and two blocks in a come-from-behind, 67-61 victory over Teaneck.
