Vote for Mississippi boys high school athlete of the week Aug. 21-25

There were several top performers across the state in boys and girls high school sports, but only one can be voted athlete of the week for Aug. 21-25.

Boys nominations

Jeremiah Wilson, Lanier: Wilson had a day. He scored six touchdowns and rushed for over 275 yards on 27 totes, to help Lanier defeat Newton 52-32.

Jack Richardson, Madison Central: In a game that went down to the last 10 seconds, Madison Central kicker Jack Richardson’s field goal to help his team beat Ocean Springs 15-14. Richardson scored seven of Central’s 15 points with field goals from 25 and 20 yards, along with a PAT.

Marvin Moore, Callaway: Provine could not contain Marvin Moore of Callaway. Moore, a junior, ran for 245 yards on 13 carries and scored two touchdowns in Callaway’s 32-0 shutout of Provine.

Chris Davis, Picayune: Chris Davis showed why he is a Dandy Conzen Clarion Ledger preseason choice. In his first game of the season, Davis downloaded on the Brandon defense for 242 yards on 43 carries, while scoring three touchdowns in Picayune’s 28-21 victory.
