Meet this week's Louisville-area high school athlete of week from Ballard basketball
Ballard sophomore basketball player Kendall Taylor was voted The Courier Journal girls athlete of the week after earning 705 votes.
Louisville Collegiate senior basketball player Rachel Disney finished second with 680 votes.
Be sure to check back Monday morning to vote again for The Courier Journal's girls athlete of the week. The poll closes at 6 p.m. Thursday, and the winner will be announced Friday.

Rachel Disney, Louisville Collegiate, basketball
Senior Rachel Disney helped the Amazons secure two wins. She scored 26 points in a 52-15 victory against Fort Knox and 28 points in a 52-41 victory against Iroquois.
Destiny Jones, Central, basketball
Senior Destiny Jones, a West Georgia signee, scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Yellow Jackets' 70-21 victory against Fern Creek. She also tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds in Central's 42-40 victory against Pleasure Ridge Park.
Kendall Taylor, Ballard, basketball
Sophomore Kendall Taylor helped Ballard extend its win streak after she scored 20 points in a 56-52 victory against Whitefield Academy. She scored 12 points in a 55-20 win over Presentation.
Arionna Tunstall, Seneca, basketball
Junior Arionna Tunstall recorded 23 points and 13 rebounds to help the Redhawks beat Doss, 46-28.
Adriana Palazzolo, Oldham County, basketball
Senior Adriana Palazzolo posted 30 points and 11 rebounds in a 64-56 loss to Bluegrass United.
