It's time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.

Your vote will determine who will be the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Girls Sports Athlete of the Week for Jan. 22-28. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Wednesday morning.

All athletes who play on Section V girls teams are eligible to be nominated.

Maddy Bellamy

The Batavia Notre Dame swim star won the 200 free (2:03.53), 100 fly (1:02.40) and joined Lily Emerson, Isabella DeVay and Sophia Iovannisci on the winning 400 free relay (4:04.03) at the Genesee Region Athletic Association Girls Championships on Friday at Gates Chili Aquatic Center.

Miley Bohrer

The Mercy bowling star rolled a 214 high game and 412 high series against YWCP on Friday. Bohrer has a 190.71 series average this season.

Jessica Chapados

A sophomore on the Harley Allendale Columbia indoor track team, she won the 3,000- and 1,500-meter races, and also placed fourth in the 1,000 during the Wayne-Finger Lakes Division 2 Championships. The HAC Wolves scored the most team points.

Emma Goodell

The Victor freshman finished first in the 55-meter hurdles race during a Monroe County indoor track league meet. Goodell's time of 8.68 seconds is second on the Section V leaderboard for the season, with Corning's Cella McLaughlin at No. 1.

Corintia Griffith

The Webster Schroeder senior produced the best long jump in Section V this indoor track season 19 feet-8 1/4 inches during a Monroe County league meet. Griffith also ran the 55-meter dash in 7.25 seconds, tied for the second fast in Section V this season.

Piper Hyde

Hyde had seven points in overtime, part of 13 overall, to lift Oakfield-Alabama girls basketball to an OT win over Batavia Notre Dame.

Eva Jenny

The Gananda girls basketball star recorded 40 points in Wednesday’s win over HAC, breaking the Blue Panthers’ previous school record of 37. She added 31 points in Friday’s victory against North Rose-Wolcott.

Elsye Klump

The Keshequa senior won the girls triple jump with a leap of 35 feet-11 inches and placed second in the long jump (16-6 1/4) during a Rochester Winter Track League meet at Houghton University.

Peyton Mullin

A freshman at Dundee, who won the 285-pound weight class at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Girls Wrestling Invitational. The only state champion from Section V pinned her opponent in the tournament final after 1 minute, 5 seconds.

Kaylee Oswald

The Wellsville junior excelled during the field events of a Rochester Winter Track League meet. She put the shot 39 feet, the longest distance in Section V this season. The 2023 Democrat and Chronicle All-Greater Rochester Outdoor Track Team member also was runner-up in the weight throw (39-3 1/2).

Campbell Riley

The Batavia junior ran the 1,500-meter race in 4 minutes, 51.13 seconds to win the indoor track event during a Monroe County league meet. Riley's time is second on the Section V season leaderboard, behind Corning standout Sarah Lawson. Riley also won the 600-meter dash.

Hannah Roegiers

A senior with the Marion/Gananda indoor track team who won the 55-meter dash in 7.91 seconds and was runner-up in the 300 (45.51) during the Wayne-Finger Lakes Division 2 Championships.

Sadie Scott

The Brighton girls basketball star became the fourth player in program history to reach 1,000 career points on Friday against Hilton, in a 20-point outing. Scott also had 28-point and 23-point outings earlier in the week.

Aurora Yantz

The Rush-Henrietta bowling star shot a 215 high game and 572 high series against Hilton on Friday.
