Von Miller injury: Broncos OLB expected to have surgery

Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller suffered a tendon injury at practice Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Miller is now in danger of missing the entire 2020 season.

The Broncos were practicing indoors because of a blizzard in Denver. The injury was a freak incident that happened on the last play of practice, according to Schefter.

Miller is expected to undergo surgery.

Last year, the Broncos’ defense lost outside linebacker four games into the season to an ACL injury. This year, Denver might lose Miller before any games are played. Chubb is still recovering from his injury and might be on a snap count when the Broncos host the Tennessee Titans in Week 1.

Denver might not have a definitive diagnosis for Miller until after he consults Dr. Robert Anderson in Green Bay on Thursday, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. Though it’s certainly not official yet, reports seem to indicate that it will be a season-ending injury for the superstar pass rusher.

If Miller is placed on injured reserve, the Broncos will undoubtedly sign another outside linebacker. Jeremiah Attaochu would be the in-house candidate to replace Miller with Malik Reed also available.
