Volz earns 100th career pin for Campbellsport wrestling; Waupun hockey shuts out Appleton

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Winnebago Lutheran 54, Ripon 45

RIPON - The Vikings (10-3, 6-2 Flyway) took advantage of the Tigers (6-10, 2-4 East Central) playing their third game in the past four nights to pick up a non-conference victory.

Although the game was tied on a couple of occasions in the second half, WLA eventually pulled away for the nine-point final margin.

Lindsey Nell, who became the third player in school history to reach 1000 career points in Tuesday night's 68-58 road win at Omro, led the Vikings with 16 points and eight rebounds.

Addy Suprenand added 15 points and Abby Cole posted another double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds.

With her next basket, Cole will tie 2011 graduate Katelyn Kuehl for fourth place on WLA's all-time career scoring list and she needs 35 more points to join Nell in the 1000 career points club.

Karsyn Bauman tied for the game-high with 16 points to lead Ripon, along with five rebounds, three assists, six steals and two blocks. Adalin Nodolf added 10 points for the Tigers.

North Fond du Lac 62, Southern Door 51

BRUSSELS - After trailing at the half, the Orioles (9-5, 4-3 Flyway) picked up an impressive double-digit non-conference comeback victory on the road against the Eagles (4-9, 2-4 Packerland).

Lauren Stettbacher led the way for North Fondy with 15 points, seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and six blocks.

Allison Now and Jenna Krupp each added 12 points and Lily Heidl rounded out the Orioles' scoring leaders with 10 points. Now also had a team-high nine steals.

Valley Christian 43, Central Wisconsin Christian 41

OSHKOSH - The Crusaders (4-9, 1-5) nearly picked up an upset over the Warriors (9-4, 6-2) by putting together a three-point halftime advantage, but ultimately lost the battle in a two-point defeat to their Trailways-East foes.

Samantha Braskamp scored 16 points to lead CWC and Tabitha Buwalda followed with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Anna Y. Giannopoulos led Valley Christian with a double-double of 23 points and 11 boards, along with five steals.

Living Word Lutheran 65, Mayville 28

JACKSON - The Timberwolves (15-0, 9-0 Midwest Classic) earned a blowout non-conference win over the Cardinals (3-11, 2-5 Flyway).

Kaleah Alles led Living Word Lutheran with 21 points, Delaney Winkelmann added 14 points, and Elaina Raymond had a double-double with 13 points, 10 steals.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Waupun 71, Kettle Moraine Lutheran 68

WAUPUN - The Warriors (10-5, 6-0) held off the Chargers (8-9, 2-4) to remain unbeaten in the East Central conference.

Logan Prall led Waupun with 16 points, followed by Aiden Hawkinson with 14, Zeke Ewerdt with 13, and Issac Vande Kamp with 10.

Central Wisconsin Christian 56, Valley Christian 22

OSHKOSH - The Crusaders (5-6, 3-2) doubled up the Warriors (0-11, 0-7) by the break and cruised in the second half to pick up a Trailways-East victory.

Derek Wallace and Brady Patterson each scored five points to lead Valley Christian.

WAUPUN - The Warriors (8-6-2, 2-3) shut out Appleton (0-13, 0-5), scoring once in the first and third and three times in the second period, to pick up a Badgerland victory.

Haiden Rieder scored the first two goals for Waupun. Jonas Buchholz, Chase Beahm, and Mason Holz all each added a goal for the Warriors. Beahm, Nate Batzler and Camden Flegner each tallied an assist.

Blake Colker saved 20 shots in net for the Warriors and Brandon Tobak had 36 saves for Appleton.
