Vols’ junior pitcher enters NCAA transfer portal

Tennessee junior pitcher Hollis Fanning has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

The 6-foot-8, 230-pound Fanning (0-0) appeared in 24 games, including one start, from 2021-23 at Tennessee. He recorded 29 strikeouts and a 2.21 ERA with the Vols.

Fanning earned 2022 spring SEC academic honor roll and 2020-21 SEC first-year academic honor roll honors.

Fanning came to the Vols from Tullahoma High School in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Tennessee advanced to the College World Series in 2023 for the second time in three seasons. The Vols won a game in the College World Series for the first time since 2001.
