Volleyball roundup: BOLD Warriors go 3-1 at Wabasso tourney
Sep. 17—WABASSO — The BOLD volleyball team finished 3-1 at the Wabasso Tournament on Saturday.
The seventh-ranked (Class A) Warriors opened with wins against Pipestone, Central Minnesota Christian and Springfield. In a top-10 matchup, BOLD lost to ninth-ranked Wabasso 25-14, 25-17.
The loss was the Warriors' first of the year. They are now 13-1-1.
Also at the Wabasso Tournament, MACCRAY went 3-2, beating Southwest Minnesota Christian twice as well as getting a win against Pipestone. Brielle Janssen led the Wolverines in kills (52) and ace blocks (eight). Annie Bourne dished out 92 set assists over five matches.
CMCS went 2-2, beating Springfield and Pipestone.
BOLD travels to Melrose at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. MACCRAY goes to top-ranked Minneota at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. CMCS goes to Tracy to play Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Benson finished 2-1 at its home tournament, getting wins against Ortonville and Ashby before losing to Westbrook-Walnut Grove.
The Braves stay at home for its next match, hosting Sauk Centre at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in a West Central Conference matchup.

Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa went a perfect 4-0 at the Crosby-Ironton Invitational with sweeps over Barnum, Deer River, Pine River-Backus and Verndale.
The Jaugars go on the road for a non-conference match against Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg at 7:15 p.m. Monday in Kerkhoven.
