Vital Manchester United injury boost as duo train before Arsenal game... but Bruno Fernandes fears grow

Manchester United have welcomed Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford back to training ahead of Sunday’s visit of Arsenal.

Erik ten Hag has been devoid of options, particularly in defence, of late having been without 11 first-team players for the defeat at Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils confirmed on Thursday that both Rashford and Martinez were able to work out as part of the full team session as the penultimate weekend of fixtures loomed.

Rashford picked up an injury in the FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry, ruling him out of the subsequent three games.

Martinez has endured an incredibly turbulent season due to injuries, playing only 11 times and picking up a calf issue in March having just returned from a lay-off.

It remains to be seen if either will be fit to start against Arsenal as United look to get their bid to qualify for Europe back on track.

Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay are doubts having sat out the Palace trip, and the fact that neither were mentioned in United’s update suggests they remain absent from training.

The club did highlight the presence of academy players Harry Amass, Louis Jackson, Habeeb Ogunneye, Toby Collyer and Ethan Wheatley amid the spate of first-team injuries.

Ten Hag will update fans on Friday afternoon in his pre-game press conference.
