Vikings WR Jalen Reagor guarantees victory Sunday at Detroit: ‘We’re going to win’
Punt returner and reserve wide receiver Jalen Reagor guaranteed Wednesday that Vikings will win Sunday at Detroit and wrap up the NFC North.
Asked about the possibility of Minnesota clinching its first division title since 2017 at Ford Field, Reagor said, “We’re going to win.’’
Asked if that was a guarantee, Reagor said, “Yes.”
Reagor was then asked why he is certain the Vikings (10-2) will defeat the Lions (5-7), who have won four of their past five games. The last time the teams played, Minnesota came back from a 24-14 deficit in the fourth quarter to win 28-24 on Sept. 25 at U.S. Bank Stadium.
“I’m not going to say anything about their team,’’ he said. “I’m not going to say anything about if we might win. I’m going into this game expecting us to win. We’ve earned the right. We’ve won before. I feel we have the team to do it. I have no doubts and that’s just really what it is.”
Reagor played just two offensive snaps in last Sunday’s 27-22 win over the New York Jets, but had a 38-yard catch and an eight-yard run. Head coach Kevin O’Connell said Monday his role could increase, although Reagor said he hasn’t had any discussions with Minnesota coaches about that this week.
Reagor, acquired Aug. 31 from Philadelphia, has been the Vikings’ punt returner all season. He’s averaging 7.1 yards per return.
