Vermont H.S. sports scores for Saturday, Feb. 17: BHS basketball upsets rival Rice

The 2023-24 Vermont high school winter season has begun. See below for scores, schedules and game details (statistical leaders, game notes) from basketball, hockey, gymnastics, wrestling, Nordic/Alpine skiing and other winter sports.

Note: Munezero, a freshman, sank a hanging layup off the glass to push BHS in front, 60-59, with 2:20 to play. Musa Kasanga sandwiched a pair of layups around Cieplicki's basket in the final minute before Judkins, a freshman, knocked down a pair of foul shots with 19.4 seconds left for the cushion needed for the Seahorses (11-9) to hand Rice (18-2) its first in-state defeat this winter. It's Burlington's first win over longtime rival Rice since 2017.
