Venus Williams has tennis fans speculating she could be nearing the end of her iconic career.

Monday on Instagram, Williams reflected on her experience since her professional debut nearly three decades ago.

"On this day 28 years ago I made my debut to professional tennis," Williams wrote. "I never imagined 28 years later what (Serena Williams) and I would experience in this sport. I can recount the wins and the losses, but in the end it was always about the pursuit of my best self. Everyday, win, lose or draw. I can look back with no regrets. It’s all been worth it."

Williams is a former world-ranked No. 1 and has won seven Grand Slam singles titles and five Olympic medals during her career.

Williams last played at the U.S. Open in September when she lost in the first round of singles and then teamed up with her sister, Serena Williams, for the doubles competition as a wild-card entry. The pair lost 7-6 (5), 6-4 to Lucie Hradecka and Linda Noskova in the first round.

This Instagram caption, alongside two photos of 14-year-old Williams playing in her first WTA match, comes a few months after Serena announced she'd "evolve" away from tennis after a 27-year career.
