Ven-Allen Lubin of Vanderbilt basketball enters transfer portal | Report

Vanderbilt basketball's Ven-Allen Lubin has entered the transfer portal, according to a report from ESPN's Jeff Borzello.

Lubin's entry into the portal comes on the final day of the transfer window and it's a big blow to the Commodores. In 2023-24, Lubin averaged 12.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in his first year after transferring from Notre Dame.

He was one of two remaining players from the 2023-24 team who had not entered the portal. Now, only JQ Roberts, an incoming sophomore, remains.

New coach Mark Byington rebuilt the roster after the departure of Jerry Stackhouse, bringing in several new players from the transfer portal.

Among those joining the team are two grad transfer guards − Grant Huffman from Davidson and Chris Manon from Cornell − along with Boston College wing Devin McGlockton, Virginia Tech wing Tyler Nickel and guard MJ Collins, North Texas guard Jason Edwards and James Madison forward Jaylen Carey. The incoming transfer class is the 36th-best nationwide and ninth-best in the SEC, according to 247Sports.
