Following two weeks of activity since the last Varsity Insider high school boys and girls power rankings, our top 10s saw plenty of movement and shake-up.

This week's boys power rankings:

1. Rice Memorial High School
Record: 13-2-2
Jan. 30 ranking: 2
► The Green Knights ran into a hot goalie, Ethan Fortin, and saw their 11-game winning streak halted in last week's 1-0 loss at Spaulding. But Rice's well-executed win over South Burlington two weeks ago, its second over the Wolves this winter, is enough to get the jump to No. 1.
2. South Burlington High School
Record: 15-2
Jan. 30 ranking: 1
► The Wolves have outscored opponents 15-3 over a three-game streak since their 4-1 defeat to Rice. Wednesday, longtime coach Sean Jones meets his son, Owen Jones, as SB and Mount Mansfield square off at the Essex Skating Facility.
3. Spaulding High School
Record: 8-7-2
Jan. 30 ranking: 5
► Spaulding has bounced back from defeats to Burr and Burton and BFA with impressive shutouts of CVU (3-0) and Rice (1-0).
4. Burr and Burton Academy
Record: 9-6-2
Jan. 30 ranking: 6
► The Bulldogs have won three of four games, including a 3-2 victory in the final seconds at Colchester and a 5-0 shutout of MMU.
5. Colchester High School
Record: 12-4-1
Jan. 30 ranking: 3
► The Lakers, the top-ranked team in Division II, have won five of six games including a 3-2 decision over Burr and Burton, 6-2 over Essex and 5-1 over CVU.
6. Hartford High School
Record: 9-5-2
Jan. 30 ranking: 4
► Playing some tough competition, Hartford is 1-5-1 over the last three-plus weeks.
7. Mount Mansfield Union High School
Record: 8-6-3
Jan. 30 ranking: 7
► The Cougars are 1-1-1 in their last three games. Their one victory? A 3-0 decision over BFA, the first time they've beaten the storied program.
8. Lyndon Institute
Record: 11-2-1
Jan. 30 ranking: 10
► Lyndon pushed its unbeaten streak to seven games with a strong, 4-0 victory over Milton, a fellow Division II contender.
9. BFA-St. Albans
Record: 6-10-1
Jan. 30 ranking: 8
► The Bobwhites lost a late lead to Essex and then suffered two more setbacks during a weekend tournament in New York.
10. Harwood Union High School
Record: 12-4
Jan. 30 ranking: 9
► Harwood's high-scoring offense was silenced Saturday in a 5-1 home loss to Woodstock. The setback ended a 10-game winning streak.

► The Comets rebounded from their first blemish against an in-state opponent (2-2 tie at rival Essex) with a 4-1 triumph at Woodstock.
2. Burlington/Colchester
Record: 12-4-1
Jan. 30 ranking: 3
► The Sealakers skated to wins over Hartford, Essex and Burr and Burton since the last rankings before an entertaining tie with Champlain Valley/Mount Mansfield on Saturday.
3. South Burlington High School
Record: 12-4-1
Jan. 30 ranking: 5
► One of the best single-season turnarounds of any team this winter, the Wolves are 5-0-1 in their last six games, a stretch that includes upending the Kingdom Blades' perfect season with a thrilling overtime triumph.
4. Kingdom Blades
Record: 15-1
Jan. 30 ranking: 2
► The Kingdom Blades' loss at South Burlington hasn't slowed the Northeast Kingdom cooperative team's momentum: They're on a three-game roll with big matchups upcoming: at Essex, vs. Burlington/Colchester and then at BFA.
5. Burr and Burton Academy
Record: 12-4-1
Jan. 30 ranking: 4
► Losses in three of their last four games, including last week's home defeats to South Burlington and Burlington/Colchester, drop the Bulldogs in the top 10.
6. Hartford High School
Record: 12-4-1
Jan. 30 ranking: 8
► The Hurricanes answered a five-game winless streak with back-to-back victories (over U-32 and Essex).
7. Woodstock Union High School
Record: 9-6-2
Jan. 30 ranking: 6
► The Wasps are 1-4-1 in their last games. Last week, they tied South Burlington and lost 4-1 to BFA.
8. Essex High School
Record: 5-10-1
Last week's ranking: 7
► Essex had its best result of the season, a 2-2 tie with BFA, before getting blanked on the road by Hartford 5-0.
9. Spaulding High School
Record: 7-8-1
Jan. 30 ranking: 9
► Spaulding has one win in their last six games.
10. Rice Memorial High School
Record: 7-9-1
Jan. 30 ranking: Unranked
► Rice's four-game winning streak includes a measure of revenge against Middlebury and back-to-back shutouts of Brattleboro and Stowe.
