Vandebilt Catholic leads all Houma- and Thibodaux-area boys soccer teams in LHSAA playoffs
Vandebilt Catholic boys soccer made it to the semifinals, but VCHS wasn't the only local team to qualify for the LHSAA playoffs.
Here's how all nine Houma- and Thibodaux-area boys soccer teams fared in the LHSAA playoffs:
A.J. Ellender
The Patriots clinched the No. 21 seed in Division II, but lost their first game to 12-seed Haughton, 3-1.
Central Lafourche
The Trojans qualified in Division I as a 10-seed and won their playoff opener against No. 23 Fontainebleau, 4-2. However, their playoff run came to an end in the second round, losing 6-2 to Baton Rouge.
Covenant Christian
CCA clinched the ninth seed in Division IV and won its opener over No. 24 St. Frederick, 5-0, but then lost to No. 8 Episcopal 4-1 in the second round.

E.D. White
The Cardinals claimed the 7-seed in Division III and opened the postseason with a 6-0 shutout of No. 26 Lord Beaconsfield Landry, but were upset in the second round as 10-seed Parkview Baptist won 1-0.
Houma Christian
The 13th-seeded Warriors were upset by 20-seed St. Martin's Episcopal, losing in the first round in Division IV, 2-0.

South Lafourche
SL barely qualified for the playoffs, only making the 29th seed in Division II. The Fighting Tarpons lost their playoff opener to No. 4 Archbishop Rummel, 8-0.
South Terrebonne
The Gators opened the playoffs as the No. 7 seed in Division II with a 2-1 win over No. 26 Salmen, but lost in a second round upset to No. 10 Riverdale, 5-0.
Terrebonne
THS began the playoffs as the No. 11 seed in Division II and beat No. 22 Archbishop Shaw, 5-2. However, the Tigers' season ended in the next round with a 3-0 loss to St. Thomas More.
Vandebilt Catholic
The Terriers were far and away the most successful team in the Houma- and Thibodaux-area this season. As the second seed in Division III, VCHS defeated No. 31 Buckeye, 8-0, in the first round. In the second round, the Terriers continued their shutout streak, beating 18-seed De La Salle, 2-0. In the quarterfinals, VCHS recorded its third straight shutout, beating Parkview Baptist, 2-0. Ultimately, the Terriers' playoff run ended in the semifinals with a 2-1 loss to U-High in extra time.
