US Open 2024 fan experience: What to know about parking, merchandise, more in Pinehurst

The men’s U.S. Open golf tournament is back at Pinehurst Resort’s No. 2 course for the first time in a decade.

After hosting golf’s national championship in 1999, 2005 and 2014, Donald Ross’ historic track in the North Carolina Sandhills is set to welcome 156 golfers and hundreds of thousands of fans back to “the home of American golf.”

Practice rounds will be held ahead of the four-round championship, which begins Thursday and concludes Sunday evening with a player lifting the U.S. Open trophy.

Wyndham Clark won the 2023 U.S. Open in Los Angeles. Payne Stewart (1999), Michael Campbell (2005) and Martin Kaymer (2014) are the previous U.S. Open winners at Pinehurst No. 2.

Where to buy US Open golf tickets

Information about U.S. Open tickets can be found here, including ticketing for juniors and military members. As of Monday afternoon, gallery tickets for Thursday start at $175 on the U.S. Open’s official site and $121 on StubHub.

Gate entry policy at US Open, Pinehurst No. 2

Fans have the option to enter and re-enter Pinehurst Resort at gate Nos. 1, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10. Gates are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for practice rounds, and 6 a.m. to the conclusion of play for the first two championship rounds. Gates open an hour before the first tee time on Saturday and Sunday. To view an interactive map, download the USGA app.

US Open parking lots, maps for Pinehurst No. 2

Free parking and shuttle transportation to and from Pinehurst No. 2 will be provided from two lots. Fans have the option to park in the RED Lot (located north of Pinehurst on NC-73 in West End) or the BLUE Lot (south of Pinehurst on Sand Pit Road in Aberdeen). Signage in those areas will direct fans to the lots. Directions to the parking lots and maps are available here.

Can you bring your phone to the US Open?

Fans are allowed to have mobile devices at Pinehurst No. 2. The USGA says phones must be set to silent or vibrate and calls should be taken away from play. Photos, video and audio recording are permitted throughout the course, but live streaming isn't allowed. The USGA is also providing free WiFi.

The Merchandise Pavillion is located near the main admission gate and includes more than 400,000 U.S. Open logoed items.
